Can I use Cleanadent Paste on natural teeth?

Cleanadent Paste is safe for natural teeth, though it does not contain Fluoride as it was designed to be used on oral appliances and gums which do not require fluoride. As a dentist, Dr. Berland recommends using a fluoride toothpaste or fluoride rinse on natural teeth along with the ADA.  Cleanadent Paste has an alkaline pH of 9.5, which is higher than regular toothpaste, it helps protect the enamel by neutralizing the acidic bacteria that causes cavities.

Why does Cleanadent Paste contain SODIUM LAUREL SULFATE (SLS)?

Thank you for your question. It is clear that you are knowledgeable about the subject. Dr. Berland was cognizant of this when developing the formula and we only used a minimum amount of the SLS to be able to make the formula work. Both SLS and Saccharin are only in trace amounts in the formula, and we have received positive feedback on this product from people who had sensitivities to SLS in other products. If you are interested in trying our products, we’ll be happy to offer you a 20% discount with Promo Code: DENT. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so you can try the products risk-free. People love our new products and that's why we are always happy to send samples.

ADHESADENT

Can I use Adhesadent with a powder too?

Yes, it is safe to use Adhesadent with a powder too if you are still having issues with your denture not holding.   I have included an instructional video from Dr. Berland that may help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2_fBHYQanQ

How long does the hold last?

The hold depends on the person, but our Adhesadent Denture Adhesive is formulated to last all day.

How long should a tube of Adhesadent last?

It really depends on how much you use for your denture.  The Adhesadent should last about 30 days if you use it as instructed. I have included a video for you to watch that shows Dr. Berland explaining Adhesadent. Since our adhesive provides such a powerful, long-lasting hold, you do not need to use as much adhesive as with other brands. With Adhesadent, less is more.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2_fBHYQanQ

Problems with the Adhesive not holding?

Thank you for your review on Adhesadent. We would like to share some tips for using Adhesadent. Please click this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM7X4QtKSEA&t to see Dr. Berland’s

instructional video for the best results on Adhesadent. I have written out some of Dr. Berland’s tips below and remember less is more with Adhesadent. Adhesadent was the first adhesive with the ADA Seal of Acceptance, it is recognised by the American Contact Dermatitis Society and is considered to be hypoallergenic. Adhesadent is also Zinc free and we use natural ingredients for manufacturing the product.

I have written out some of Dr. Berland’s tips below.

  1. Since our adhesive provides such a powerful, long-lasting hold, you do not need to use as much adhesive as with other brands. With Adhesadent, less is more. Try starting out small until you find the right amount of adhesive that works for you.
  2. Adhesadent sticks best to Wet Gums & a Dry Denture. Before applying Adhesadent, make sure that the denture is completely dry. Then before inserting the denture, rinse out the mouth with lukewarm water.
  3. Additionally, after adding the adhesive to a dry denture, you can try placing the denture in lukewarm water for 10-20 seconds to soften the adhesive and then spread it out over the denture in a thin layer before inserting the denture in the mouth.
  4. While some people experience holds of over 12hrs, we recommend cleaning the denture and reapplying Adhesadent after every meal as this is more hygienic.

Please remember to allow 45-60 minutes before eating or drinking after the denture is inserted into the mouth with Adhesadent. This is recommended for all denture adhesives so that the adhesive has time to set.

REPLY TO INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO EMAIL

Thank you for the feedback, we are sorry to hear that the additional tips were not helpful. Different products work for different people that is why there are so many options. We have processed a refund for $, it will go back to the card that was used for the purchase.

We wish you the best in your dental journey. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

How to resolve a stuck denture.

Dr. Berland has been treating & listening to patients with dentures for over 40 years, and he has developed these tips to help improve the lives of denture wearers. Please feel free to reach out any time we can help! Info@drbdentalsolutions.com

Cleanadent Paste helps to remove the adhesive and get the denture out, but here is a tip from Dr. Berland. - "The next time your dentures get stuck, here is another trick - have a hot drink, swish/rinse thoroughly with warm water, then close your mouth and blow till your cheeks puff out. This often breaks the seal. Then try to remove your denture. If that doesn’t work, please repeat.

Asking for recommendations on dental treatment

Hello, that sounds like it can definitely be frustrating. We would love to help however, at Dr. B Dental Solutions, we only manufacture and sell Denture Care products that can be used to help clean and maintain dentures and oral hygiene with dentures. Our unique products are designed to improve the denture experience by preventing oral infections, dry mouth and sore spots and helping with comfort and retention.

If you are not satisfied with your current dentist, you can certainly search for other local dental professionals and visit them for a second opinion. Having  an in-person consultation with a dentist will be the only way for them to assess the situation and determine the best way forward.

Can the Adhesadent be used on a bottom partial?

Yes, Adhesadent is great at providing added retention for bottom partials, which can be particularly difficult compared to other oral prostheses.

Should Adhesadent allow me to bite into apples?

The exact functionality and ability to eat certain foods varies on each person's individual situation, though apples can be particularly difficult for denture wearers.  While we hear amazing stories from happy customers all the time who are eating things that they could not before using adhesadent, for apples we recommend cutting it up into slices first before eating.

How is it taste wise? I know it says no artificial flavors, but is there a bad taste to it? (adhesadent)

People love the taste of Adhesadent. It is specially designed not to have any strong flavors and there are no artificial ingredients. If anything, there is a minimal and gently refreshing natural taste from the Vitamins and Aloe Vera.

How long should I leave the appliance in the Crystals soak?

Thank you for contacting Dr. B Dental Solutions Customer Care. The disinfecting starts to work instantly, all that is really needed is 5-15 mins daily to disinfect and deodorize the dentures. It is okay if you soak overnight sometimes, but we do not recommend soaking overnight in the Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser nightly and never overnight if you have a soft liner.

If you prefer to soak overnight, we recommend soaking in plain water. We hope this helps and please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Does the Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser  work without Sonic Cleaner?

Yes, all the cleaning and disinfecting properties come from the  Liquid Crystals, so you do not need to use it with the Sonic Cleaner. However, the Sonic Cleaner is great at loosening debris and it helps the Crystals penetrate the appliance on a microscopic level for an even deeper clean. It also helps remove biofilm to prevent recolonization.

Are the products safe for dentures with soft relines?

Yes, our products are safe for soft liners except for the Powder Crystal Soak Cleanser.  All that is really needed for soaking in the Liquid Crystal solutions  is 5-10 min daily.  For soft liners, we do not recommend soaking your denture overnight.

Is the Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser  Safe To Use On Appliances With Metal? (Ticonium Alloy)

Our Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser is safe for all metals and plastics typically used in Oral Appliances. We only caution against using the product on partials made with Ticonium Alloy as it can be damaged by all cleansers. Ticonium Alloy is a metal that had been used in the past on some partials, but now is used very rarely because it was sensitive to damage from any cleanser, not just our Cleanadent Liquid Crystals. Ticonium is no longer used for partials and we just keep the warning there in case someone has a very old partial. The Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser has been rigorously tested and was determined to be safe on all materials typically used in oral appliances, including Acrylic, Nylon, Metals and Zirconium.

If there is any doubt, we always recommend asking the lab that made the partial if it contains ticonium alloy. However, to date we haven’t had any customers who had a partial with Ticonium, and no one has reported any damage or discoloration to their dentures from using our product.

Persulfate response

In response to your question regarding persulfates, our Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser does contain persulfates (like almost all soak cleansers), but the amount is very minimal compared to other cleansers. We haven’t received a single customer complaint regarding a negative reaction to the persulfate in the formula, even from customers who typically have sensitivities to persulfates, so we believe that this shouldn’t be an issue for your patients. As long as a patient rinses their appliance thoroughly after soaking in the Cleanadent Liquid Crystals solution, there should be no residue left on the appliance that could provoke a negative reaction to the persulfate.

However, unlike other cleansers, our soak cleanser is the only one that kills disease-causing pathogen like…. [continue with product description]

BRUSHING AN ORAL APPLIANCE

Brushing the appliance can cause microscopic scratches, when this happens it is easier for stains and dangerous pathogens to set in making it harder to keep disinfected and deodorized.  Our Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser instantly kills pathogens like Candida, Strep, Staph, and Actinomyces on all removable oral appliances without the use of harmful chemicals like bleach, alcohol, or chlorine. These pathogens are the leading causes of Oral Thrush, Stomatitis and Pneumonia, and anyone with an oral appliance is at high risk of infection. Soaking your appliance for 15 minutes a day is all that is needed to disinfect and deodorize your appliance. Pairing the Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser with the Ultrasonic helps to penetrate the microscopic scratches to give a deeper clean. Once the cycle is complete on the Ultrasonic, we recommend thoroughly rinsing the appliance under running water to remove any residual residue and letting it air dry before it is stored for the day.

Why does it smell when I use your liquid cleaner?

While our Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser does not contain any harsh chemicals like bleach, alcohol or chlorine, it is still a disinfectant and a slight chemical odor may be detectable. We have 3rd party clinical studies that demonstrate that Cleanadent Liquid Crystals is extremely effective against dangerous pathogens while being safe when used properly. Any chemical odor will go away after rinsing the oral appliance, leaving only a slight trace of peppermint. As it is a disinfectant, please be cautious not to have direct contact with the cleanser, especially around the mouth or eyes.

Do cleaning crystals contain bleach or other chemicals?

Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser was designed not to damage or discolor the material of oral appliances like acrylic, nylon, zirconium and other plastics and metals. When it comes to fabrics, there could be some slight oxidation that occurs depending on the material and the amount of time of contact. You can find our full ingredients list on our website at www.drbdentalsolutions.com.  There is no sodium hypochlorite (bleach), chlorine or other harsh chemicals, there is a concentrated form of citric acid which can sometimes affect clothing. That is why we caution against direct contact with fabric, skin, and anything else except the water for the solution. If any spills occur, a paper towel will safely do the job at cleaning up.

Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser Leak and discoloration of the surfaces

While there is no bleach, chlorine, alcohol or other harsh chemicals in the  liquid crystal soak cleanser, the cleanser is still a disinfectant and the low pH of the product, when not diluted, might have caused the discoloration. The cleanser was formulated to be diluted. The product will not cause any damage or discoloration on oral appliances like acrylic, plastic, nylon. If you have a spill or leakage please use a paper towel to clean with to avoid any discoloration to your personal towels.

Hole in the plastic cap and another in the foil safety seal on Liquid Crystal.

The drilled hole and foil seal is normal and is just for venting, and does not indicate tampering. Only if the seal itself has been removed or shows signs of damage would that suggest potential tampering. Thank you for reaching out to us to check

Can you soak your dentures in bleach, vinegar or hydrogen peroxide?

Soaking the dentures in vinegar does not do anything except deodorize, or  protect against the stains, debris, pathogens or anything else. Hydrogen Peroxide is not made for dentures, and it is too harsh for the material. This will bleach the denture, and it will lose its shine and color.

Liquid Crystal Soak Cleanser is the only cleanser that kills dangerous pathogens like Candida, Strep & Staph which are the leading causes of Oral Thrush, Stomatitis and Pneumonia. Clinical research consistently finds that the majority of dentures will develop these pathogens over time.

The Crystals safely disinfect with no harsh chemicals like bleach, alcohol or chlorine, and are very effective at removing tough stains and eliminating odor. If you use any of the other methods, you will be putting yourself at risk of developing oral infections and damaging your denture.

Why can I put my dentures in the recommended solution for just a short while? It would be a lot easier to be able to soak them overnight.

Liquid Crystal Soak Cleaner will disinfect instantly and remove tough stains in just 5-15 minutes, and we do not recommend soaking longer than that as it is not necessary.  We do recommend soaking your dentures in plain water overnight, as this helps the denture material remain in good condition for longer. As the Crystals work so quickly, if you are soaking them every day then just a few minutes is all you need. If you leave your appliance in the Crystals solution overnight every once in a while, you will not have any damage, but soaking according to the time in the instructions will be better for the longevity of the denture material.

CPAP Machine

Thank you for your response.  Many people have emailed us to let us know that they have been successfully cleaning their CPAP devices with Cleanadent Crystals soak. However, this is the first time someone has asked us if it was safe to run the solution through the CPAP machine to clean it.  At this time, we would advise you to contact the manufacturer of the CPAP machine and ask them if the Liquid Crystals are safe to run through the machine to clean it and not cause any damage or harm.   We cannot accept the liability of recommending this process, it would be at your own risk.  If you do choose to use the Crystals in this way, you should ensure that you rinse all the components very thoroughly. You could also call the office that prescribed the CPAP. They may have better information for you or a cleaning solution they recommend made specifically for that purpose.

Why Proper Denture Cleaning Matters

Dentures collect food, bacteria, yeast, plaque, and biofilm, just like natural teeth. If not cleaned properly, this can lead to:

  • Denture stomatitis (yeast infection)

  • Odor and bad taste

  • Irritation and sore spots

  • Poor denture fit

  • Gum inflammation

  • Long-term material damage

Using the wrong products — like toothpaste or harsh bleach tablets — can scratch dentures, weaken materials, and harm soft liners.

That’s why proper technique and the right products matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use toothpaste to clean my dentures?

No. Regular toothpaste is too abrasive and can scratch dentures. Use a non-abrasive cleanser like Cleanadent Paste instead.

Do I need to clean my mouth if I have no teeth?

Yes. Cleaning your gums, tongue, and cheeks removes bacteria and helps prevent irritation, infection, and denture stomatitis.

What is the best denture cleanser?

Liquid Crystal is recommended for home use because it cleans deeply without harsh chemicals. Powder Crystal packets are ideal for travel.

How often should I soak my dentures?

Dentists recommend soaking dentures every night to remove bacteria, stains, and odor that brushing alone cannot remove.
